Meet The Pastor

Rev. Donald G. Roberts, Pastor

DonaldGRobertsPastor Don was called to Ivor Baptist Church on 1 April 2013, yes April Fool’s Day, showing that God does have a since of humor.

While being born in Williamsburg, VA, Pastor Don claims Louisiana as home. It was in LA where he spent the majority of his youth. It was in LA where he was introduced to Christ and came to know Him personally as Lord, Master & Savior. It was also in LA where he first enlisted in the US Navy while still in high school. While knowing that he will most likely never return to LA minus the occasional trip home, he still remains a dedicated New Orleans Saints fan (all the way back to Archie Manning and EVERYONE KNOWS that God’s Favorite Football Team are the “Saints”); loves his LA cuisine to include red beans and rice, fried catfish, and a good crawfish boil; and remains true to his Deep South Baptist beliefs.

Pastor Don is a Very Proud 22+ year US Navy veteran and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He is a double graduate of Regent University with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership & Management (2006) and M.A. in Practical Theology (2010).

Initially coming to know Christ as Lord, Master, and Savior at the age of 17; he accepted the calling into the deacon ministry in 1999, and later into pastoral ministry in 2007 after a long on and off again argument with God. Pastor Don has been in the ministry and serving the Lord for many years and in many different positions from handyman, to teacher, to deacon, to pastor in various churches.

Pastor Don is married to the former Brenda Cippolini, originally from Fall River MA. They have been married for over 30 years and are blessed to have two adult children (Donald & Becca) who both are married with their own families. They are also proud Grand Parents with 4 grand daughters and are looking forward to future grands …

Being Bi-vocational, father of 2, husband of 30+ years, “Pop” “Pop” to 4, and so much more… Pastor Don knows and understands the many struggles that are faced daily by each and every one of us. He also knows that the only way that he is able to make it through the day is “only” because of his personal relationship with God. This very relationship has produced a Joy and Excitement that can only be found in Christ, for it is Christ and desires to share that very same Christ with All who wish to come and know Him that not only bring true fulfillment but also True Joy!

God is Busy in Ivor Baptist Church, come and not only see what He is doing but also become part of it.

Blessings,

Pastor Don
